David has been Bethany's full-time pianist/organist since 2015. While not classically trained on the organ, David has more than 30 years of musical experience, which includes both piano and handbells. Over his many years at Bethany, he continues to support the music ministry of the church, rehearsing and serving as accompanist for the chancel choir. He selects and prepares preludes and postludes, as well as offertory and communion music as needed. He provides music for other special services, including Christmas Eve and various Easter week services, as well as youth programs, weddings, and funerals. David also served as a Bethany Youth Fellowship group leader for a number of years. He is a member of the Colonial English Handbell Ringers, a touring handbell group in the Maryland/Virginia/D.C. area, and has been with them since 2000. David has been a part of Bethany since 1981. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1992 from Lynchburg College (now the University of Lynchburg), Lynchburg, VA. He majored in communications/journalism with a minor in English.
